Las Mamitas y Los Papitos de Comedy, A Cinco de Mayo Celebration

Cassie G is a Woman's Health Registered Nurse who is sliding into retirement and onto the comedy stage. New to her act in 2025 is her comadre, “la Turi,” a ventriloquist’s best friend. Cassie has performed throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Nevada and in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She participated in the World Series of Comedy 2024 competition in Las Vegas recently and also opened for veteran comedian, Paul Rodriguez at the Laugh Factory in Long Beach, CA. Her comedic style varies depending on the show. She has been seen onstage as Nurse Sassy Cass, Cassie G, and Lola from Espanola. Cassie also delivers her comedy in English and Spanglish. Most of her comedy comes from being the second oldest of seven children in a Latina household. She brings her childhood frustrations of landing butt first on cactus plants and rubbing her eyes while pulling chile off the ristras that hung on the family porch,,,OUCH!!! She brings a comedic twist to what life was REALLY like being raised by a young mother who was born into a brothel but raised her own six daughters and one son with an iron fist! Cassie says that in retrospect, her comedy is an extension of her 38 year career as a registered nurse. She realized the importance of laughter in medicine when on her shift one night as a young nurse caring for a man who had been in the hospital for a very long time and had fired his other nurses, she walked into his room and as usual, he immediately began to complain. Figuring he ....well, she didn't know what to figure. She sat on the edge of his bed, let him rant and when he finally stopped, she turned and looked at him. All she could say was, "GAWD, you're a cantankerous old fart!!! "The words just slipped out," she said. Her patient began to laugh. He laughed so hard that he almost wet the bed. At that very moment, he felt validated in his frustration. She sat quietly and let him vent, Those few spoken words, "GAWD, you're a cantankerous old fart" enabled the patient to let go of his frustration and break into laughter. From that night on, he always requested Cassie to be his nurse. Life comes with frustrations for all of us from time to time. Sometimes it isn't frustration, at all, but just a need to sit back and laugh. That is just what she loves to see when she is onstage - hearty laughter and wiggling uvulas
